Albums
The discography of American rock group Toto includes 13 studio albums, 4 live albums, and numerous compilations. Toto has released original music as well as collaborated with other artists on soundtracks and films. Toto has won numerous Grammy Awards.
Before the formation of Toto, band members did sessions for other musicians. Drummer Jeff Porcaro, bassist David Hungate and keyboardist David Paich (the son of session drummer Marty Paich and brother of guitarist Joe Porcaro) played on Boz Scaggs 1975 album Silk Degrees. Toto was formed in the year 1976 as a result of the collaboration.
Turn Back, Toto's third studio album, was criticized by critics due to not having hit singles. In 1985 the group's lead singer Fergie Fredericksen resigned, and the band held auditions to find a replacement frontman. Guitarist Steve Lukather was chosen, and the group recorded their 1986 album Fahrenheit.
